My Time for Me...and Mini-Me

If you're female and living in Fairfield County, CT and you haven't heard of My Time For Me, then you should check it out. The girls who own and run it, Andrea and Tracy, rank high on my "cool chick" list. Our gender is typically the last of any group to actually take time for ourselves, free of the various "roles" we play like mother, daughter, friend, wife, professional, etc... My Time For Me creates, organizes and delivers creative adventures for women to have fun and just BE women (because that's the best title to have on our business cards). Elizabeth McCarthy. Woman. Period. What other title does one need?

Well, the My Time For Me adventure du jour was all about "me" and "mini-me." The Bumps, Babies and Beyond expo took place at the Loading Dock in Stamford today, and featured many area resources focused entirely on expectant, new and new again parents and grandparents.


Meet my dear friend, Meg and her inspiration for launching Fairfield County Child. She created Fairfield County Child as a way to communicate with other like-minded parents about what's new and exciting for kids in Fairfield County, CT. When her little one (pictured here) was born, she searched the Internet looking for activities and family-friendly places to go that were creative, healthy, stylish and fun for both of them. She found plenty of opportunities in big cities like New York, but nothing in her backyard. FairfieldCountyChild.com was born and is now the area's leading resource, offering informative tips for moms and sweet deals exclusively for FCC readers.


I also finally had the opportunity to meet Jennifer Covello, founder of Frittabello, today. I fell in love with her adorable organic cotton onesies, hats and bibs. There are many quality photographers out there that specialize in children and family photography, but I've always been partial to black & white photography. I believe it imparts a timeless quality to an image. So I fell in love with Peggy Garbus' Photography at the show. Look at that precious face there in the big picture.


I've met Dr. Beverly Marr before and always appreciated her approach to wellness. Her team also includes another friend of mine, Meg Tocantins, a hypnotherapist.
