New Canaan Youth Services and the New Canaan Domestic Violence Partnership are seeking support to help raise awareness of Domestic Violence and Dating Abuse this month.
On Monday morning, October 4, at 9:30, please join us at New Canaan High School to encourage the kids to sign a proclamation vowing to prevent bullying, dating abuse, digital coercion and domestic violence. It's an important initiative, especially in light of recent tragic stories. It isn't just about physical violence anymore. The internet, texting, and social media have became a very powerful forum for our newest generation to become victims of a variety of abusive behaviors and cyber-bullying. The more we can do to educate teenagers about these dangerous behaviors, the more we can prevent needless suicides and deaths amongst our youth.
