Fighting Winter Colds with Garlic
Garlic is a wondrous nutritional therapy shown to be effective for blood sugar control, cholesterol and blood pressure reduction and even prevention of cognitive decline and heart disease. Nature has provided us with the most effective natural antibiotic, antifungal and anti-carcinogenic seasoning and remedy around.
Garlic can aid in the release of certain heavy metals, bad bacteria and yeast while also promoting a healthy intestinal system. Supplementation has even been shown to help jet lag sufferers!
While Vitamin C and Echinacea typically speed up cold recovery time, have you thought about or tried garlic yet this winter? A groundbreaking double-blind, placebo designed 12-week study showed that the group taking high quality garlic supplementation between November and February had significantly fewer colds than the placebo group. If you are not ready to go the supplementation route, try adding more garlic during food preparation…..the result is richer taste bud appeal and a healthier body!
