As well as being fun, laughing gives the heart and lungs a good workout and research indicates that it also lowers blood pressure, relaxes muscles, reduces pain, produces stress hormones and boosts the immune system by in increasing the production of disease destroying cells. Laughter triggers the release of endorphins, the body's natural painkiller and produces a general sense of well being. Look up some jokes on the internet, watch some comedy on TV, go to your favorite card store and read the humorous (or naughty) cards, laugh with your kids...laugh when you feel like crying! Memorize a joke and share it at the dinner table.
